Let the new Edwardians take to their unicycles!!!
Yesterday, whilst penning my latest essay for the journal ‘Le Moderne Edwardian’, I went into a reverie, and started to wonder how the average Edwardian gentleman would have travelled in style in the modern cities of today.
I’m sure that no gentleman of taste would travel short distances in some ghastly automobile (although I am often partial to my 1965 open-top Mercedes Coupe). After giving this some thought, it became apparent that the perfect mode of transport would be the unicycle.
Just stop and think about it for a minute. Unlike a bicycle, unicycles take up no more space upon the pavement than the average pedestrian does. Also, it takes some effort and skill to master a unicycle - this fact should appeal to any gentleman.

However, at this point my thoughts were interrupted by a loud wailing blast of a siren from a passing police car. My God! How on earth is one meant to concentrate, with these constant distractions.
I then started to daydream about policemen riding around on unicycles. They could form a special ‘unicycle squad’. After all, we still see policemen on horseback. Ah! The possibilities…
