more historical evidence comes to light surrounding ‘Michelmas the evil avocado’

Jean-Paul LeBeq from Quebec, Canada emailed us after following the thread about ‘Michelmas the evil avocado’. He thanks us for publicizing this matter and told us:

“The knowledge about the power of this avocado has long been known within my immediate family circle. My grandfathers brother, Henri LeBeq, was undertaking a tour of North Africa in the early part of the last century. His aim was to explore and photograph the area. When he arrived home and developed the frames, this is what he found.”

“He was never the same again. His business collapsed and he became suspicious and paranoid. After a while, the whole family, now completely penniless, left France and emigrated to Canada to start a new life.”

“I can’t recall that any further bad things happened after the family left France, but every time he suffered the slightest irritation, Henri LeBeq was famed for stamping his feet against the ground and shouting:”

“J’habitais toujours en France et etre un homme riche si ce n’etaient pas pour celui avocat damne!”

(“I would still be living in France and be a rich man if it were not for that damn avocado!”)

Thank you Jean-Paul. Regular readers will notice an all too familiar pattern within this narrative.
